AKA Russsian Tarragon

Wild Tarragon is a spreading plant with slightly aromatic but distinctly flavored pale-green leaves. Used to accent meats, chicken, fish and vinaigrettes. Full or part sun.

(24”-36”)

Artemisia dracunculus, commonly called wild tarragon, is a polymorphic species that is native to temperate Europe and Asia.  It is a rhizomatous perennial or sub-shrub that typically grows to 24-36” on erect stems clad with narrow, linear to lance-shaped. Greenish white flowers in narrow elongated panicles bloom in summer.

Best grown in organically rich, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun. Avoid wet soils. Cut plants to the ground in early spring. Dividing the clumps every 3-4 years will help keep plants robust. Plants will slowly spread by creeping rhizomes.

  • Artemisia dracunculus compositae
  • 200 seeds/packet
