The best known Patty Pan Squash!

The most tender shade of green and scalloped edges make Benning Green Tint the most adorable of all Patty Pan squashes! Harvested when 3 to 4 inches across, the vigorous bush plants produce loads of scallop squash in record time. The texture is fine and tender, perfect for grilling or using raw in salads. Their fun, UFO shape also make them a favorite of children as they love to hunt for the small squash hidden in the monstrous canopy of green leaves.

Introduced in 1914, Bennings Green Tint scallop was developed by Charles N. Farr, who selected for its uniform scallop-shaped fruit and a “greenish cream” color at the early stages of fruiting. Scallop squash or Patty Pan varieties have a long history of being grown on the East Coast of America by Native Americans and in Europe tracing back to the 16th century.

A must for any garden and a great choice for children or beginner gardener.
