For all your Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine!

A very popular Mexican heirloom, Poblano peppers are a staple for many dishes from their home country as well as Tex-Mex cuisine. Peppers are called Poblano when green and are commonly used to make chili rellenos after roasting and peeling. As they mature, they turn a bright shade of red and are called Ancho Chiles, most often used for making authentic red chili powder.

Peppers are 4 inches long by 2.5 inches across at the shoulder, tapering to a blunt point. Ripens from dark green to rust red. Plants are 30 to 36 inches high and give a continual supply once production starts. Require a long season and a lot of heat.

A medium hot chili, the heat can be further reduced by removing the seeds. Scoville units: 1,000 - 2,000.
