Best and largest of the Greens!

Aunt Ruby’s German Green is the best and largest green beefsteak tomato. The tomatoes, which grow up to a pound, have a delicious, sweet and spicy flavor. Originally from Germany, these were perfected by Ruby Arnold of Greenville, Tennessee. The skin will develop yellow highlights when it is perfectly ripe. A little known fact is that green tomatoes make the best fried green tomatoes!

This family heirloom from Germany is beautiful. The winner of the 2003 Heirloom Garden Show’s taste test.

Will not set fruit well during the heat of summer in the deep south.
